All enrolments to Parkdale Preschool are coordinated through the central registration scheme run by Kingston Council.

  • Whether your child (or older child) has attended the kindergarten before

We are holding Preschool tours on 23rd and 24th of April 2025 5pm-5.30pm. Call 9580 1155 for booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Your child must have turned 3 before they can start kindergarten.

    • Three-year-old kindergarten – your child must be 3 years of age or older by 30 April in the year they start kindergarten

    • Four-year-old kindergarten – your child must be 4 years of age or older by 30 April in the year they start kindergarten

  • No, the Department of Education (DET) has stated a child can only have two years of funded kindergarten. Children will move from three-year-old kindergarten to four-year-old kindergarten the following year. It is therefore really important that families who have a child born between January and April take this into consideration, when deciding if their child is ready to begin their kindergarten and school journey.

  • Children cannot repeat four-year-old kinder unless they show delays in learning and development outcomes as specified by the DET and a second year of four-year-old kindergarten is supported by their teachers. Unfortunately, as Parkdale Preschool must prioritise funded places, it is not an option to pay full fees for an extra year of four-year-old kinder.
